In them are deceased Jewish prisoners from the Kaufering III and IV subcamps.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_single_image media=”83922″ caption=”yes” media_width_percent=”70″ media_ratio=”four-three” alignment=”center” media_link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.landsberg-kaufering-erinnern.de%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2020%2F10%2F4.5-Foto-1-c-Anton-J.-Brandl_Web.jpg|target:_blank|”][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_column_text]How many victims are buried in both of the concentration camp cemeteries is not known. A member of the War Crimes Investigation Team told the Dachau process that two mass graves with approximately 2,000 to 2,500 bodies had been discovered at the site.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_single_image media=”83923″ caption=”yes” media_width_percent=”70″ media_ratio=”four-three” alignment=”center” media_link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.landsberg-kaufering-erinnern.de%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2020%2F10%2F4.5-Foto-2-c-Anton-J.-Brandl_Web.jpg|target:_blank|”][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_column_text]In April 1973, during construction work to the south, both of the concentration camp cemeteries, a further 48 skeletal concentration camp prisoners were discovered. The bodies were buried in the Kaufering North concentration camp cemetery. Several memorial plaques, erected by relatives, serve the memory of the concentration camp prisoners who died.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_single_image media=”84648″ caption=”yes” media_width_percent=”70″ media_ratio=”four-three” alignment=”center” media_link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.landsberg-kaufering-erinnern.de%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2020%2F11%2F4.5-Foto-4-c-USHMM_Web.jpg|target:_blank|”][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_column_text]The similarly landscaped Kaufering North cemetery has three concrete block burial grounds, with a gravel path leading to the central memorial. It is made of Flossenb\u00fcrg granite and is like a column.
