Walnuß II

“Walnuß II” was the last of the three bunker projects in the Landsberg area, on which work was begun.

The bunker was to be constructed in the summer of 1944, to the north-west of Landsberg, a good two kilometres from “Weingut II”. The OT senior site management assigned the construction of the “Walnuß II” bunker to the Karl Stöhr Company. Concentration camp prisoners were compelled to carry out dangerous, heavy work on the construction site.

However, construction was abandoned after the mountain of gravel had been heaped up. Today there are no active quarries in the area.
